Strawberry Banana Smoothie
Fresh strawberries and ripe banana blend with plain yogurt and milk into a creamy, naturally sweet smoothie in 10 minutes. The base recipe has no added sugar.

Ingredients
- 200 g fresh strawberries hulled after washing; about 1 1/2 cups
- 1 medium ripe banana peeled and sliced; about 118 g
- 240 g plain whole-milk yogurt chilled, unsweetened, made with pasteurized milk
- 120 ml whole milk chilled and pasteurized
Instructions
- Rinse the strawberries under cool running water before removing the green tops. Drain well, hull them, and cut large berries in half. Peel and slice the banana.
- Pour the milk into a blender. Add the yogurt, banana, and strawberries, then secure the lid.
- Blend for 30 to 60 seconds, until smooth and no fruit pieces remain. Stop the blender before scraping down the sides, then blend briefly again if needed.
- Check the consistency. If it is thicker than you like, blend in cold milk or water 1 tablespoon at a time. Taste before adding anything else; ripe banana usually provides enough sweetness.
- Divide equally between two glasses and serve immediately. Refrigerate any portion you are saving promptly; stir or briefly blend again if it separates.

Healthier Option & Substitutions
Use a banana with brown speckles and unsweetened yogurt. The smoothie still contains naturally occurring sugars from fruit and milk; it is not sugar-free or low-sugar.
Replace fresh strawberries with the same weight of unsweetened frozen strawberries. Let them soften for 5 minutes if your blender needs help, and add a little extra milk only if necessary.
Use the same amounts of plain low-fat yogurt and low-fat milk for a lighter version. Texture and nutrition will change with the products used.
Use the same amounts of plain unsweetened plant-based yogurt and unsweetened plant milk. Protein, allergens, flavor, and nutrition will differ; check product labels. This variation can be vegan, but the base recipe contains dairy.
Use a frozen sliced banana or reduce the milk to 60 ml, then add more gradually. Do not add unblended ice after serving.
Storage & Serving Advice
Storage
Best served immediately. Refrigerate promptly in a clean, covered container at 40 F (4 C) or below and use within 24 hours for best quality. Stir or briefly blend before serving. Discard if left at room temperature for more than 2 hours, or more than 1 hour above 90 F (32 C).
Serving
Serve cold in two medium glasses. The recipe makes roughly 600 to 700 ml, depending on fruit size and any extra liquid. Nutrition is an estimate per half-batch using 200 g strawberries, one medium banana, 240 g plain whole-milk yogurt, and 120 ml whole milk, with no added sweetener.
